every year at the first weekend in may nimbin celebrates its status as one of the most colourful, free and non-conforming villages in australia

the population swells from 600 to many thousands as people from all round this world come to celebrate the marihuana harvest in the name of marihuana law reform

rainbow retreat, while not condoning drug usage, does support the notion of freedom of choice

for us, this festival has become a time for celebration of what we have created in this place, our special place, a place to share with travellers so they can meet and relax in a beautiful environment

rainbow retreat is just far enough away from the village to be private, yet close enough for guests to be part of an amazing weekend of celebration

accommodation at this time is well sought after as you can imagine, we suggest you plan to arrive as early as possible (normally the week before is a great time to be here)

we do not formally book our accommodation at this time and somehow manage each year to accommodate all, with a little bit of creativity
